About
Widder Hotel

TRADITIONAL? MODERN? UNIQUE. 700 YEARS OF HISTORY. Widder Hotel is more than just a design hotel. It is the gem of the Swiss luxury hotel industry, just waiting for you to discover it. Seven hundred years of history are steeped within its walls. Today’s hotel is comprised of nine formerly distinct medieval houses. All the buildings have been carefully restored to ensure they retain their original character. Inside the luxury Widder hotel you will find a striking contrast between historic building features and some of the most prominent modern designs of the 20th century. 35 ROOMS - 14 SUITES 49 FINE DIFFERENCES In the Widder Hotel, there’s a new world to discover behind every door. Each suite has a different layout and all rooms are individually decorated. One suite may feature venerable oak beams, another an antique tiled stove, grisaille murals, delicate frescos or elegant stucco. But all our luxury accommodation shared among all these are high quality materials and a host of historical references. On the medieval framework we have layered contemporary design, cutting-edge technology and unparalleled comfort: each bed is adjustable and pleasant light is provided by directional LED reading lamps. Movement-sensitive night-lights guide guests from bed to bathroom. Each room is also equipped with a Nespresso machine, minibar, multimedia TV, wifi and telephone.

More About
Widder Hotel

Zurich's Widder Hotel, built on the site of Roman and Celtic ruins, comprises nine medieval houses decorated with 15th-century frescoes. Given its historic depth, it is not surprising that star architect Tilla Theus's painstaking transformation took more than ten years. Every room is individually styled to mix the past, represented in the unusual circular rooms and passages, which refer to the Roman well uncovered during construction; and the modern, seen in furnishings created by such design greats as Charles and Ray Eames, and Frank Lloyd Wright. The different restaurants are as unique as the hotel itself- from the modern and trendy Widder Bar & Kitchen to the classic and rustic chic Restaurant-Boucherie AuGust. Executive Chef Tino Staub and his team are fully dedicated to serve you an unforgettable lunch or dinner at any time of the day.
