Lupaia is a Tuscan farm estate that lays on foundations more than a thousand years old, with the main house and annex dating back to 1622. The name Lupaia is derived from the Latin word lupus (wolf) and can be translated as “the hill of the wolves”. The estate was purchased in 2016 by Christopher and Heidi Mueller, who followed their dream of running a small hotel in the countryside. The property was renovated with great care and respect for its history and authenticity. Staying at Lupaia feels like staying at a home, not a hotel. Service is discreet and unobtrusive, yet always available. There are no strict hours to follow for drinks or meals, which are happily served anywhere on the property. A very dedicated team of 30 hosts is available to make every stay a unique experience. Our front office team is happy to arrange concierge service and activities, book restaurants and transfers, and is also available through WhatsApp before and during the stay. Outdoor private parking and e-charging station. Laundry and pressing service also available. The restaurant with its beautiful open kitchen is the heart of the hotel and welcomes guests from the early morning until late at night. The kitchen fully comes alive in the afternoon, when Chef Luca starts preparing the dinner menu, and the smells of fresh herbs and roasted meat fill the air. Ingredients all come from local suppliers and Lupaia’s organic vegetable garden. Everything served in the restaurant is home-made.
