About
Aman-i-Khas

A wilderness location and a sensitive connection to Rajasthan’s history and culture await guests at Aman-i-Khás, an outpost on the threshold of Ranthambore National Park inspired by lavish Mughal hunting parties of old. Each of the ten soaring guest tents is beautifully furnished and assigned a personal butler. In-between daily Jeep safaris to catch a glimpse of tigers and other wildlife, guests can enjoy rejuvenating spa treatments or a dip in the traditional step-well pool, before drinks around a communal firepit and dinners lit by flickering candles under a canopy of stars. Aman-i-Khás lies in the Aravalli Hills on the fringes of Ranthambore National Park, in rural Rajasthan, Northern India. On the outskirts of the Ranthambore National Park, ten Mughal-inspired tents overlook a ruggedly beautiful landscape that is home to abundant wildlife. Each one is filled with light and offers an expansive 108 square metres (1,162 square feet) of space, with a soaring bedroom, living area with daybed, dining area and bathroom with free-standing bathtub and shower. Elegantly furnished, the tents are positioned to ensure utmost privacy, each with their own sun deck, ideal for watching passing birdlife. Set in a sun-dappled landscape of dhok trees and brushwood, each of the ten guest tents rises to six metres in height, its canopy sheltering airy living, sleeping and bathing spaces, divided, Mughal-style, by white cotton drapes.

More About
Aman-i-Khas

Aman-i-Khás is a wilderness camp set on the edge of Rajasthan’s Ranthambore National Park. Combining the Sanskrit-derived word for ‘peace’ with khás , meaning ‘special’ in Hindi and Urdu, Aman-i-Khás is surrounded by the starkly beautiful Aravalli Hills. The camp provides unrivalled access to the region’s ancient forts, colourful rural villages and the wildlife of Ranthambore, including India’s elusive tigers. Aman-i-Khás offers ten luxury guest tents echoing the rich Mughal travelling tents of bygone days. Constructed of canvas and supported by a steel frame, with interior walls and ceilings draped in fine cotton, each tent measures 108 square metres. The centre of the tent, with its soaring six-metre canopy, leads to three ‘rooms’ for sleeping, bathing and dressing in. The bedroom features a king-size bed flanked by twin writing desks. The bathroom includes a shower, soaking tub and separate toilet, and the dressing room contains cupboards and twin vanities. There is also a sitting area outside on the deck. Tents are air-conditioned and can be heated. There are three other tents at Aman-i-Khás – the Dining Tent, the Lounge Tent and the Spa Tent – all spaced around the camp’s focal point, an outdoor fireplace. Softly lit by lamps, the Dining Tent is furnished with one large dining table and several smaller tables. Indian cuisine and a range of Western dishes are served, with fresh vegetables and herbs coming from the camp’s organic garden. Located adjacent to the Dining Tent is the Lounge Tent, furnished with sofas, armchairs and reading tables. The Lounge provides a wide selection of coffee-table books about the National Park, India’s tigers and the history and culture of Rajasthan. The Spa Tent has two separate treatment areas, each with twin massage tables. The camp also offers a traditional step-well swimming pool, surrounded by a terrace and a grove of trees.
