Amanyara

Amanyara is a secluded beachside resort on the northwest coast of Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos. The property’s name combines the Sanskrit-derived word for ‘peace’ with yara, the word for ‘place’ in the language of the Arawak Amerindians, one of the region’s first indigenous groups. Contemporary in layout and design, the resort enjoys a pristine location just 25 minutes from the international airport. Entry to the resort is through an elegant reception pavilion that opens onto a central reflection pond. Surrounded by mahogany trees, the pond is framed on one side by a library and boutique, and on the other side by the Bar and the Restaurant. Fronted by the resort’s 50-metre main swimming pool and sundeck, the circular Bar offers a dramatic soaring roof and expansive sea views. The Restaurant provides both indoor and outdoor dining settings, with sweeping views of the ocean. The menu focuses on classic Asian and modern Mediterranean dishes, with an emphasis on fresh seafood. Amanyara presents 38 timber-shingled guest Pavilions, including two suites with two bedrooms, and 20 Villas, tucked along the coast or situated slightly inland overlooking tranquil ponds. Each Villa is located on more than half a hectare and features three, four or five bedroom pavilions, expansive living and dining areas and an infinity-edge swimming pool. Located on a dune above Amanyara’s 800-metre white-sand beach, the Beach Club provides a casual dining venue throughout the day. Beyond lies the Nature Discovery Centre, which offers daily complimentary snorkelling excursions. Amanyara embraces the acclaimed Northwest Point Marine National Park, an area of 1,686 hectares that provides some of the world’s best wall and reef diving. Amanyara’s Aman Spa offers four double treatment pavilions, a 10-square-metre pool, an outdoor yoga sala and a Pilates studio. The Fitness Centre overlooks four tennis courts and features a range of cardiovascular equipment and resistance training machines.
