A typical weekend in Cartagena!

Cartagena, founded in 1533, is considered to be one of the most beautiful colonial cities in the Americas. It’s located on the Caribbean sea and was once the gateway to the Spanish empire in the New World. Enjoy a day trip that includes transportation to and from La Boquilla, a drum class in the culture house of La Boquilla, a session of hands on drum therapy, and typical fresh fish lunch at Restaurant Donde Angel.  In “La Boquilla”, an Afro- Cartagena village of fishermen is where you will also go through an ethno- touristic walk, which will allow you to learn more about the history of this fishing village, dating back more than 250 years, with cultural market traditions and with the joy that characterizes the people of the Colombian Caribbean coast. This ethno- touristic tour is a walk through the streets, cobbled and sandy alleys, where you will witness the life of this afro village of fishermen. In the afternoon you will have the chance to enjoy an amazing trip in a wooden canoe with a local captain, through the natural mangrove tunnels (The Love, The Happiness and Remember tunnels) in the Cienaga de Juan Polo Swamp. During this tour the local guide will explain more about the ecosystem of the Mangroves (flora and wildlife).    Night Tour: Salsa-RouteCartagena has a history of Cuban musical and cultural influence. Specialized salsa collectors opened clubs and bars to share with their friends more than 30 years ago.
