I recently had the opportunity to stay at The Montage Laguna Beach. I found it to be one of the nicest properties I've experienced in California, and would highly recommend it to any traveler. From the moment you arrive at Montage Laguna Beach, you get a sense of how special this property is. Unlike other properties in the region, there is a small yet welcoming entrance from the street, followed by a small driveway to the carport outside the lobby. It is an intimate space, where more than four cars make it look cluttered. But this is the magic of the property; unlike the others, it is smaller and more intimate, yet packed with features. The Montage Laguna Beach is also part of our SELECT Hotel Property portfolio, where guests can enjoy additional complimentary amenities. Arrival is on the 4th floor of the building. Entering into the wood-paneled lobby, you walk into a very large lobby bar which is bright white with fantastic ocean views, featuring indoor and outdoor seating. Depending on where you are staying, you are either in the main building or one of the lower-level buildings. I stayed in a lower-level building and had the good fortune of being upgraded to an amazing suite with two balconies on the second floor and stunning ocean views. This suite instantly felt like home, and I was hard-pressed to leave such a beautiful space for my meetings. However, when I did leave the suite, walking around the property was also a joy with incredible views, a lovely pool area, great restaurants, and beach access. Beyond the room, there were many other great elements to complement: The StaffI found the staff here to be immensely helpful. They tried to familiarize themselves with you from the onset and were dedicated to helping you with whatever you needed. In particular, the restaurant staff was talented at not overstaying their welcome yet making you feel engaged and chatty when appropriate. The FoodWow, such excellent food at the Montage. I had several dinners here and found the restaurant to be well-staffed and organized, with a menu of delightful options that were very well presented and cooked. The flavor profile was excellent, and I couldn't have been happier with my choices. Additionally, I had one of the best Eggs Benedict's ever for Room Service, which says quite a bit. Delivering a perfect Eggs Benedict is often one of the more trying tasks I give to a hotel, as the timing has to be spot on - but they nailed it. Even their poolside burger was good! I would highly encourage you to send a client to The Montage Laguna Beach for an exemplary experience.
